A random thought

In small group, a question was asked regarding if there was ever a time that we identified with someone else's situation. I drew a blank until this morning. I remember when I was attending community college, I would read international papers using the library's computers. I found myself drawn to Ireland and the IRA issues. I remember reading about one massacre with tears streaming down my cheeks. I cried for all the brutality and pain of the people. I cried for the injustices. It was an intercessory experience. It lifted after a bit, but I was changed. To this day, I want to walk the wall in Belfast that extends between the protestant and catholic neighborhoods. It feels like I lost kin on both sides of the wall.
