I posted almost a year ago about filming from the skyview deck of the Peabody hotel. While they did not use any of my behind the scene footage, here is a link to the music video...it is moving to me:

The song was written for Miss HIV documentary. It is about AIDS. I was present for most of the filming for most of it. Mr. Del was in 360 Mafia and became a Christian. He now pastors a group of young adults. I enjoyed his group of folks very much.
Here is the other music video that they filmed at the same time. I was present for most of this too. They used one scene from my behind the scenes stuff. It is the film of the trucks crossing the I40 bridge. I got tired of this song...not that it is bad, just heard it a lot and over and over:

Anyway, I was reminded of these videos as I was unit producing another film and one of the actors was a banker in the second musci video. He played the tall white headed banker who put on sun glasses, etc. I remember the motorcyclists. It was fun.
Anyway, thought I would share...I am now working on my own projects. I finished filming most of one film, but will need some B roll stuff. I am doing the story boards and the directorial materials for a 4 minute comedy that I will begin filming June 10th...and so it goes. Lots of stuff to do... |

...filmed sitting on the ledge of the skyview deck of the Peabody Hotel? (That's 13 floors up!)
Heheheheh, I have!!! It was amazing! I experienced it! I was filming the behind-the-scenes filming of a music video for Bearing Fruit Communications (The End of the Spear/Beyond Gates of Splendor) and the talent was Mr. Del formerly of the 36 Mafia, now a Christian pastor/hiphop artist.
...filmed skateboarders and bikers doing extreme feats in the background of a music video?
Heheheheh, I have!!! Again, amazing!!!
Don't hate me because I have all the fun!

I have now had two cataract surgeries! My first one was almost exactly 2 years ago. I realized I was seeing double and fuzzy in my left eye. My second one was yesterday. Yellow and white looked the same with my right eye and I was seeing double. If you thought that cataracts are an old person's experience, usually yes, but I am a freak!!! Or the cataracts are freakish! Anyway, I am doing fine and happy to say that yellow and white are different colors again. It is also good to see light in the right form rather than a general hazy cloud.

It has been a long time since I have updated! I must say that is probably a good thing as I have not been in a good place as I grieved a past relationship. It was a good thing for it to end, but not until this past week did I realize how much God was caring for me in asking me to step away from it. It is funny how certain kinds of relationships can require a person to be something other who he/she really is. In the end, I did not recognize myself. I feel like I am back in my own skin and it took some time to grow back into it. Whew! Glad that relationship is done...I would echo the friends of the beloved in the Cantiles, "Don't awaken love before its time." Such wisdom...
So, what am I up to now???
Well, I am about to start a training program for prayer teams at my church. It will look different from the LTMLJ sessions in that it will be like a small group that will meet for four months biweekly. It is incredibly practice oriented. This church is different from Vineyard in that they do not need to be convinced of the theology or the precedence for the work of the Holy Spirit or prayer ministry. I am getting more excited about it each week.
I am about to start a new research project in which I will be interviewing kindergarten teachers in this school that serves children in poverty. I love looking at diversity and how we facilitate it in order to create shared meanings and understanding, as well as practices from all of that sharedness.
These are just tidbits of where I am at these days. I have been reading all the exciting stuff from others. Congrats to the Simpsons on their newest addition!!!! Also, a fond congrats to McGranahans! And many claps of happiness to Hopelark for such a good year in school and her hubby in the new job!!! If any of you are in the area, feel free to give me a holler! |

| Theological question/belief |

I want to understand a theological statement made to me. I have had this said to me in the past, but I am unsure where it would be in the Bible. It seems to me a hold over from early charismatic teaching that was borderline faith teaching (know your authority as a believer) What is the statement? It came up in small group. I wasn't challenging it when I spoke up after it was said, but then the person's response made me begin to question. Here goes: It has to do with the believer knowing who he/she is in Christ. I have heard this statement made but in reference to having authority because he/she knows who they are in Christ. This was not said last night, but I am trying to work it through the scripture and I think my view has become that a person needs to know who Christ is, not him/her self.
I really would like people's thoughts on this. It will help me work through it. Please comment on it. |

I have been teaching during this first summer session and on my second day after the grades were turned in. I have a bit more energy, but am still battling an ear infection. I haven't felt particularly well, so have taken a couple of days and have done nothing...absolutely nothing. Today, I feel better, swelling has gone down and I actually fixed and ate breakfast. (I also cleaned the kitchen! Amazing!)
I don't have a whole lot to update. My friend, who is seemed like some sort of relationship was budding, and I are not communicating at all now. I broke contact with him a bit over a month or a month and a half. Every so often it gets hard and I miss the friendship, but it is a good thing. Really do not want to get into details, but that is one of the major thing right now.
That and I am preparing for my 3rd year review in February. I am frightened about that on several levels. So, it is safe to say that life is a bit dark for me at times. Other times, the sun comes out and I get glimpses of the Kingdom advancing. I live for those days!!! I understand now how important hope and a sense of future are to health and well-being. I have seen it again and again. Often times, depression comes when the sense of time is screwed up and the ability to grasp something beyond our selves is weak. That is why serving others can be a healthy thing. That is why maintaining a schedule is important. Most of all, it is important to have a sense of the present future in the Kingdom. Without that, we are adrift.
( Recent thoughts )
Anyway, these are some of the things I think about right now. That and friendship, getting physically well, publishing research, etc. Oh, BTW, I have been contemplating taking Ballroom Dancing for fun.
